Baixo volume de água nos rios e pouca umidade do ar prejudicam cultivo de hortaliças em MT Produtores precisam reduzir a quantidade de área plantada para não gastar o pouco da água que tem. Segundo eles, isso deve impactar no preço de hortifrutis no mercado.

Os pequenos produtores de Chapada dos Guimarães, a 65 km de Cuiabá, afirmaram que o baixo volume de água nos córregos e rios e o tempo seco têm prejudicado o cultivo de hortaliças nas hortas da região. Em uma horta comunitária da cidade, toda a plantação foi atacada pelo pulgão – praga causada pelo calor excessivo e altas temperaturas.

O engenheiro agrônomo da Empresa de Pesquisa, Assistência e Extensão Rural (Empaer-MT), Reginaldo Bosco Gomes, afirmou que, devido ao clima, os produtores precisam ter uma maior atenção na hora de plantar.

“É necessário o preparo mais adequado do solo. Se possível, aplicar os nutrientes necessários, selecionar as mudas e fazer uma irrigação mais intensa e frequente”, explicou.

Com o nível baixo de rios e córregos, os produtores precisam também reduzir a quantidade de área plantada para não gastar o pouco da água que tem.

“Dependemos da mina de água, mas quando a água dela é reduzida, precisamos regrar a quantidade usada”, afirmou o agricultor José Carlos Falcão.
